Klyp Privacy Policy

Klyp (klyp-app.com and the Klyp app on Google Play) is a feed of tiny games, quizzes and tools you play, make and share with friends. Klyp is based in India. This page says, in plain words, what we collect, why, and who else handles it. The rules for using Klyp are in the Terms of Use.

Who Klyp is for

Klyp is for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please do not use Klyp.

What we collect

When you play: a random identifier stored on your device (in a cookie and in your browser's storage) so your scores, streaks and coins work; what you play, your scores and what you share; which game Klyp opens on next time (a cookie holding only the game's name, so the first screen is right before anything loads); which buttons you tap in Klyp and in its games (the button, never what you type); your device type and browser; your approximate location (country and region, worked out from your internet address; we do not store the address itself); and how you arrived, such as the ad or link you tapped. If you log in, your history is kept on your account: your results (your scores and what you made, not the recordings), including the ones you played on that device before you logged in, are stored with it so they follow you to your other devices; this phone keeps a copy for 30 days. You can delete any of them from History. You can play without telling us who you are.

When you share a link: we keep a short link (for example klyp-app.com/k/Ab3xK9X2) that points to what you shared: the game, your score and the name you play under. We make it when you tap share; if nobody ever opens it, we delete it after 90 days (links made before 4 October 2026 that nobody opened, after 7 days). A short link that was opened keeps working for the people you sent it to.

When you share to a Gallery: the result you share, the name you play under and, for games that can be replayed, a recording of your taps and moves are stored on our servers so the people you share with can see and replay it. Anyone with the link can open that Gallery. You can remove your result, or the whole Gallery if you started it, at any time, and you can turn off recording in Settings.

Your profile: the display name, @handle, bio, photo and class or section you choose to add.

If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, name and profile photo. We keep your email address only if you agree to it; otherwise we keep a one-way scrambled form of it that cannot be turned back into the address.

If you use your phone number or WhatsApp: your phone number, to send or check a login code, and any message you send to our WhatsApp number.

What you make and say: the ideas you type into the Studio and the apps you publish; comments; messages to friends; confessions; and messages or feedback you send to the Klyp team.

Photos in camera apps: a few apps (like Aura Scan, What's the Vibe and Wear My Style) ask for a photo of you. That photo is sent once to Google's Gemini AI to produce your result, and we do not store it. A profile photo you upload is stored so others can see it.

Location in Wear My Style: if you allow it, this app sends your location from your device directly to Open-Meteo (for the weather) and BigDataCloud (for the name of your city). We do not receive it.

Notifications: if you turn them on, the details your browser or phone needs to deliver them to you.

Ads and measurement

We advertise on Instagram and Facebook. To see which ads work, our site tells Meta (through the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API) which ad you came from and what you did next, such as starting or finishing a game, or signing in. With that we send your internet address, browser details, Meta's own cookie and a scrambled form of our random identifier. We do not send Meta your name, email address or phone number.

How we use it

To run Klyp (scores, streaks, coins, boards, friends and your published apps), to keep accounts secure, to send the login codes and notifications you asked for, to keep Klyp safe (we check comments, names and published apps for abuse, partly with AI), to measure our ads, and to understand what to improve. We do not sell your data. Coins are points inside Klyp: they cannot be bought or turned into money.

Who else handles it

These services process data for us: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Google (sign-in, and the Gemini AI used for photos, moderation and making apps), Anthropic (AI used to make apps from your ideas), Meta (WhatsApp messages and ad measurement), Twilio (SMS login codes) and Slack (where the Klyp team reads messages and feedback you send us). Some of them process data outside India. Messages between you and your friends are not shared with Slack.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you use Klyp. You can ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it at any time: see how to delete your account.

Your choices

You can change your name, @handle, bio and photo at any time, and turn notifications off in your browser or phone settings. To see, correct or delete your data, write to us at the address below.
